Sheboygan, Wis. – August 17, 2018 – The Vollrath Company, LLC, has been awarded in the Smallwares category of the Smallwares & Tabletop Product Awards by Foodservice Equipment Reports (FER) magazine. Five industry professionals, made up of smallwares and tabletop specialists from three major equipment and supplies dealerships and two foodservice operators, served as judges. They examined the uniqueness, efficiency, utility, durability and design of nearly 90 entries to select the winning products, which included Vollrath’s Contemporary Hinged Inset Covers.

The Contemporary Hinged Inset Covers feature a welded handle that is permanently attached and serves as a kickstand to keep the cover open for easy access to food. The handles unique design dissipates heat, making it cooler to the touch. The covers fit most seven-quart and 11-quart insets.

Judging Criteria:

The judges used a specific set of criteria to make their selections. To qualify, Smallwares Product Entries include any handheld, non-electric (although battery-operated items are permitted), kitchen tool that is designed and marketed specifically to the commercial foodservice industry. Examples include cookware (pots, pans, etc.), food-prep tools (knives, tongs, colanders, cutting boards, scales, can openers, mandolins, choppers, etc.), cleaning tools (buckets, mops, scrapers, etc.) and food-safety items (thermometers, gloves, dispensers, colorcoded items, etc.). Products designed or marketed for retail or consumer use are not eligible. Eligible Tabletop Product Entries include products designed for front-of-house use at commercial foodservice operations. Examples include dinnerware (plates, cups, glassware, silverware, placemats, etc.), buffetware, servingware, beverageware, napkin or condiment

dispensers, trays and the like. Products designed for retail or consumer use are not eligible.
