Job Summary

The Vollrath Distribution & Logistics team relies on sound process design, system-driven workflows, continuous improvement and performance management for all aspects of its operations. The Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS) Super User will support the main DC and supporting shipping locations by providing WMS/TMS application support and business logic for system configuration, maintenance and continuous improvement in support of leadership’s goals and objectives. Coordinate the application development of WMS/TMS and associated working methods in order to fulfill the business needs and user satisfaction. Ensure WMS/TMS and associated IT equipment are available, well-configured and maintained. Implement system enhancements to increase efficiency, decrease operational costs, increase quality and smooth out operational processes. 


  • Serve as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) with regards to the WMS and TMS processes
  • Understand, configure and test the WMS/TMS system in conjunction with the functional lead(s).
  • Collects and performs data analysis, identify and document process gaps, recommend and implement process improvements
  • Serves as the Point of Contact for all end users regarding inquiries in the WMS/TMS systems.
  • Trains and educates end users on WMS and TMS system processes.
  • Organizes and conducts testing in the WMS and TMS systems.
  • Test modifications to the systems and coordinate role out of upgrades.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation such as functional specifications, process flows, and SOP’s.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal and active listening traits
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Develop and execute project(s) of varying complexity and size in assigned functional area.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to ensure a successful project completion.


  •  3 years of experience as a WMS or TMS super user working on design and configuration.
  • 3 years of experience as a WMS or TMS user or process engineer working in warehouse/logistics operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, IT, Operations Management, Logistics or Supply Chain. 
  • Extensive knowledge of all modes of domestic transportation (methods / modes) including Contract / Agreement negotiations and management.
  • Ability to lead, communicate and manage effectively with logistics, distribution, regulatory affairs, operations, quality assurance, supply chain management and various Service Providers (includes 3rd party Audit/Payment vendors).
  • Experience with issue management, such as maintaining, prioritizing and resolving project issue list.
  • Experience with scope management, such as organizing customer requirements, tracking status of project deliverables and managing connections between multiple levels of scope detail.

  • Proficiency with computer software/programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) required
  • Excellent communicator. Outstanding oral and written skills, including presentation, are required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of ERP-based material control systems
  • Knowledge of Descartes TM and Solochain application software a plus.
