Job Summary

We are seeking an individual for the position of Quality Technician.This role is part of the Quality organization within Kiel Operations focusing on dispositioning product on quality hold and troubleshooting issues from the floor in order to continually improve customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely disposition of nonconforming product (NCMRs) based off age, dollar value and shipment priority to customers
  • Identify repeat nonconformance and put fixes into place to prevent recurrence
  • Update quality work documents in Word, Excel and Synergy 3000 (control plans, quality standards and quality alerts)
  • Process return authorizations and issue return credit
  • Update procedures to ensure Quality instructions are clear and up to date
  • Participate in problem solving activities, Lean activities, audits and customer visits as required
  • Evaluate data and compile reports in excel
  • Interpret engineering drawings, quality standards and other quality documents to determine product conformance
  • Complete dimensional, visual and functional lot release on incoming and outgoing product in accordance with sampling plans and take action in accordance to documented procedures when potential quality problems are identified


  • High School or GED required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations or quality
  • Knowledge in receiving and incoming inspection process and requirements
  • ASQ certification or equivalent experience (CQT)
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Ability to understand and apply SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills including ERP systems, JDEdwards is a plus
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
