Job Summary

We are seeking an individual for the position of Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing facility with new equipment justifications, process improvements, new product development, and fabrication and processing support.


  • CNC Programming and Machining – Responsible for programming and support of all machining operations.  In depth knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, technics and methodology.  Ability to program, trouble shoot quality issues, and implement machining improvements to reduce cost and improve productivity.  Work with machine and tooling vendors to implement new technologies. 
  • Fabrication Support - Responsible for providing manufacturing engineering support for all fabrication activities in Kiel.  This includes but is not limited to the deep draw, presses (hydraulic and mechanical), machining, welding (mig, tig & spot), brake press, water jet and finishing operations. 
  • Processing Support - Review drawings and develop process routing information to produce fabricated components in the most efficient manner at the lowest possible cost.
  • Process improvements – Use Lean methodology to improve flow of product and people by reducing non-valued add wastes.  Identify productivity and design improvements to reduce overall cost. 
  • Programming - Responsible for programming laser, water jet, CNC punch press, brake presses, and all machining centers.
  • New Equipment justification – Develop justification, procure and implement new capital equipment and tooling.
  • Support New Product Development - Support all new product development projects by reviewing designs of fabricated components to ensure manufacturability. Identify and recommend changes to mistake proof and reduce costs.


  • General – Familiarity with industrial engineering concepts, such as work measurement, plant layout, time and motion studies, material handling/flow analysis, etc.
  • CNC Programming and Machining – Minimum of 7 years’ experience with CNC machining, techniques and methodology.  Ability to read/write/edit G & M code.  Previous experience with programming CNC machines utilizing CAD/CAM software is required.  Knowledge of Swiss lathes and Esprit software is a plus.
  • Fabrication/Metal Working – Previous experience with metal working operations such as deep draw, press (hydraulic & mechanical), welding and brake press.  Stainless Steel and Aluminum experience desired.
  • Programming – Ability to program laser, water jet, cnc punch press, and brake presses in addition to CNC machining centers.
  • Software/MRP – Experience with Microsoft Office, Solidworks, AutoCAD, JDE planning system.  Esprit, Flow, Bysoft experience is a plus.
  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related technical field of study, plus 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment required.
