Job Summary

We are seeking an individual for the position of Maintenance Supervisor. This position supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment and the physical structures of buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • This is considered a working supervisor position
  • Direct and perform general maintenance (major and minor) work on presses and support equipment
  • Direct and perform work from a general assignment and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Directs workers engaged in ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Directs workers engaged in the general cleaning and up keep of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Fabricate, setup and weld structures using ARC, TIG and MIG welders.
  • Cut and fabricate steel using a gas cutting torch.
  • Work from minor wiring diagrams, floor plans, blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematic drawings and code books.
  • Fabricate and install gas and air lines.
  • Install and remove fuses.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs.
  • Display willingness to assist others when necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in machine maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience required in installation, maintenance, and the repair of machines and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities and Competencies

  • General basic electrical knowledge (replacing fuses, troubleshooting minor electrical circuits, changing ballasts, etc.) preferred but not required. Must have ability to use electrical and electronic measuring and testing devices.
  • Knowledge of metal stampings industry and punch press experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally using both oral and written means is required.
  • A team oriented approach to solving problems in a self-directed work environment is required.
  • Ability to effectively coach, monitor, and discipline employees.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based upon demand and at least 55 hours per week, including Saturdays is required.
