Job Summary

We are seeking an individual for the position of Maintenance Mechanic A. This position is required to maintain and keep in good running order all production and service equipment and assist in day to day activities relating to all aspects of the plant and equipment.


  • Consistently follow safe work practices.
  • Follow all written procedures and adhere to all safety measures such as PPE and LOTO.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot production equipment malfunctions. Repair, maintain, and return equipment to production in good running order and report to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Work with Maintenance Supervisor to develop new projects.
  • Specify, Research and Purchase needed spare parts.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
  • Schedule and record all activity regarding corrective and preventative maintenance using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to emergency calls as described in the maintenance on-call policy and procedure.
  • Be willing to increase skill level and knowledge on an ongoing basis through continuing education both internally and with external course works.
  • Possess and maintain, in good condition, personal toolbox and hand tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance inspections and keep logs of inspections completed.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain department procedures.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, utilizing the concepts of 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) on a daily basis.
  • Attend department meetings and participate in the development of the department.
  • Must be able to work required overtime hours, sometimes on short notice.
  • Report all injuries, safety violations, close calls or concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Requires four years of high school or equivalent vocational instruction; specialized trade knowledge preferred through additional trade or vocational schools;
  • Associate Degree in Electronics or military equivalent or completion of a State Indentured Apprenticeship Program in Maintenance;
  • Minimum of three to five years of injection molding experience as well as experience in repair and fabricating techniques, electrical and mechanical principles, job layout and material identification and use; have a good understanding of HVAC, some experience in PLC ladder programming, and be able to work independently on complex maintenance items.
  • Must possess the ability to read schematic diagrams and blueprints including electrical, electronic, ladder logic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic, and trouble shooting of secondary equipment. 
  • Must have a good understanding of local, state and national codes. 
  • Have experience in welding, plumbing, carpentry, conduit bending and all other types of maintenance work. 
  • Perform all duties in a craftsman-like manner.
