Job Summary

We are looking for an HR Assistant to handle the administration of the day to day operations within the HR department.  The person will support, and gain insight into, all of the functional areas including: HRIS, Compensation, Training and Development, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Benefits, and Executive Administration.

Key Responsibilities


  • Talent and performance management system maintenance and reporting within the Halogen system
  • Recruiting logistics-contacting candidates, scheduling interviews, arranging travel
  • Employee Orientations-being the face of Vollrath for new employees
  • Employee Services-being a point of contact for the employees regarding general questions,
  • Support the Co-Op program within the divisions
  • Training assistance-set up trainings within the system, registrations and promotion
  • Employee Communication-everything from policies to position descriptions
  • Assist with Employee Relations
  • Benefit administration and recordkeeping
  • Create and maintain employee files with payroll and talent systems
  • Assist with day to day operations of the HR office


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources or the equivalent of Associate Degree with experience in an HR Department.  Those with an Associate Degree must be willing to complete their bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an HR Department preferable or a recent college graduate with a relevant internship or work experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem Solving ability
  • Lean mindset
  • Strong PC Skills-Microsoft Office, Ceridian/Dayforce and Halogen systems a plus
  • Strong teamwork and customer-focused orientation.
  • Desire and Ability to grow within the HR function
