Job Summary

We are seeking an individual for the position of Graphic Design Lead. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for delivering a variety of finished designed pieces including advertising, brochures, infographics, web and mobile app comps, online and social media graphics, business development materials including PowerPoint presentations, and other creative materials that represent the Vollrath Family of Brands. 

In partnership with the Marketing team, the Designer will develop a variety of resources to be leveraged across multiple channels, audiences, and geographies internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with the team to understand the creative needs of customers, develops creative briefs/concepts, and runs editing process for a variety of internal and external programs and initiatives across the company.
  • Prepares design options according to briefs and medium, provides final layouts and instructions for print or digital execution.
  • Creates graphic content to support corporate initiatives.
  • Maintains metrics that contribute to the Vollrath Brand guidelines.
  • Assists with conducting periodic audits of the Vollrath brands and its application to internal and external communications, marketing materials, and product packaging.
  • Presents these findings out 2 times/year.
  • Answers questions and provides consultation to employees and vendors who will need to understand and apply Vollrath brand guidelines consistently.
  • Supports the Vice President of Marketing in stewarding the Vollrath Brand Guidelines including making updates as needed.
  • Ensures the appropriate licensing of photos and videos, and uploads finished files to the appropriate asset management database.
  • Follows the appropriate review processes prior to final production for any creative assets that are developed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related degree.
  • 5-7 years of creative agency experience or creative experience in house.
  • Demonstrated graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency with a Mac/PC, MS Office Suite and industry leading software and technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of the print production process.
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and experience with new and established social media standards and platforms.
  • Video, digital, and/or photography experience
  • Understanding of user-centric design principles, as well as at least a basic knowledge of current front-end technologies such as: CSS, HTML, Crown Peak, Word Press, Moveable Type, and JavaScript.
  • Understanding of CSS3, HTML 5 and/or CMS integration.
  • Creative copywriting experience.
  • Experience running image libraries and subscriptions.
  • Superior interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to apply practical or technical knowledge and experience to visual brand issues where no direction is given.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meets deadlines, and deal with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to think quickly, analytically to accommodate a dynamic communications environment.
  • Works well under pressure, responds to feedback well, and maintains a positive attitude.
