Job Summary

We are seeking an individual for the position of Electrical Engineer. This individual will be responsible for product support through evaluation and analysis activities, while supporting internal and external Vollrath customers for countertop and food serving line products. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support UL & CE certification activities by assisting in product inspection and managing certification file compliance and updates.
  • Support assigned products and projects by resolving issues, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs.
  • Create and manage schematics & wiring diagrams of currently manufactured products & custom orders.
  • Evaluate and select electrical/electronic components for food service equipment.
  • Travel to offsite manufacturing location to support assigned products.
  • Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
  • Effectively communicate test plans and purpose with test staff when needed.
  • Review, identify and develop improvements to customer facing product documentation.
  • Develop technical product knowledge through internal training programs, reviewing available literature and personal interaction with peer engineers and other technical resources. 
  • Build relationships with internal and external customers and coworkers to ensure smooth communication and problem resolution.
  • Write, manage and approve engineering change orders for assigned products.
  • Respond to, identify, and recommend solutions to manufacturing and quality problems.
  • Makes appropriate decisions using decision support tools and critical thinking.
  • Clearly communicates the results and underlying risks involved with their efforts.

Qualifications

  • Preferred- 4 year degree in electrical or electro-mechanical field.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer and Windows skills.
  • Strong teamwork and customer-focused orientation.
  • Basic electrical and electronic testing equipment skills.
  • Electrical wiring schematic creation experience preferred.
  • General understanding of the National Electrical Code and how it relates to proper sizing of conductors and connections in commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Understanding of UL file structure, process and food service equipment requirements a plus.
