District Sales Manager - Northern Mexico

Job Summary

We are seeking a individual for the position of District Sales Manager - Northern Mexico. This position will increase the overall sales growth within one's territory consistent with the corporate goal.  This goal will be obtained by and within the following functional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities


  • Product/category specific dollars

  • Customer specific dollars

  • Call activity/servicing of accounts

  • Market penetration

  • Gross margin

  • New product introductions

Spec writing:

  •    Number

  •    Quality

  •    Follow-up

Problem Solving:

  • Number of problems which go beyond the level of one's territory.

  • Responsiveness to management requests.

  • Absence of petty issues.

Administration Responsibilities

  • Reports, such as those required by corporate headquarters and the Regional Manager, will be submitted on time.

  • Correspondence and market information requests will be promptly answered or acknowledged within 10 days.

  • Call reports and expense reports to be mailed each Saturday for preceding week.

  • Customer files and information book kept current and accurate.

  • Marketing Program

  • Innovate promotional programs with each account such as deemed necessary.  Execute these promotional programs and keep a record of their productivity and related information in each customer file.  When developing these programs, the following criteria should be used:


  • Development of promotions geared to customers.

  • Co-op advertising utilization.

  • Dealer shows.

  • Training Of Sales Personnel

  • Number of dealer sales meetings.

  • Ride alongs.

  • Product knowledge and application.

  • Assist other DSM's.


  • To ensure all levels of each channel of distribution (including the dealer, the dealer sales representative, and the end user) are aware of promotional programs and new products.

  • Conduct sales meetings each year, make personal calls on end users and promote through use of mail and the phone to keep accounts aware of price changes, new items, dropped items, and promotional or advertising plans.

  • Obtain/maintain competitive products information (territory intelligence).

  • Complete call reports in a thorough and timely manner.

  • Continuous upward information changes.

  • Responsiveness to management requests.

Time And Territory Management

  • Have territorial coverage planned to ensure in-person coverage of all A, B, and C accounts.  Chart trips of your assigned territory to eliminate lost time in coverage and to minimize the miles traveled.

  • Manage time and resources.

  • Control expenses.

  • Regarding ABC accounts:

  • Prioritization

  • Development



  • Education equivalent of college degree and three to five years experience within the food service industry; preferably including some dealer background.
  • Be a good communicator; both verbal and written.
  • Have two active national credit cards.
  • Must Speak Spanish
  • Position is located in Cancun Mexico
